design was one of the parts of the mediamatiker apprenticeship that helped me more than i expected. i was already leaning much more toward web and programming, but this was the phase where i had to slow down and make visual decisions properly instead of just hacking something together until it looked “good enough”.

what it covered
- a poster
- a brochure
- a ci/cd manual
it was not huge product work, but it was good training in layout, typography, and consistency. the useful part was having to explain why something was placed, spaced, or styled a certain way instead of just doing it by instinct.
why it still matters
because even now, when most of what i build is software, the same basics still matter. spacing, hierarchy, readability, and visual consistency did not stop being useful just because the output moved from print to screens.
